Sharon and Joel found me online about a year ago. We met to discuss their anniversary plans and they were already giddy with excitement. I knew right away, this was going to be a great event. They didn't disappoint. The day was filled with very special moments. As I prepared my equipment just outside The Oaks Grandview Ballroom, Joel snuck out, careful to check over his shoulder before opening the door, and let me in on a little secret. They weren't just going to renew their vows. Joel was going to surprise Sharon with a gorgeous diamond ring. Before then, there was much to prepare. Leslie, the wedding planner for The Oaks, had to organize and explain ceremony duties to a team of eager grandchildren. Each of them would stand along the aisle holding a rose that would eventually be part of their grandmother's bouquet. The night ended with a game in which Joel and Sharon had to correctly answer questions, recalling moments from their 30-years together. One had a dog toy buzzer the other a whistle. Everyone celebrated by dancing.
